Fun with Posters!

If you’re bored this afternoon (yeah right) and have nothing better to do, head on over to www.despair.com!  They have some great tongue-in-cheek, yet depressingly cynical posters to browse through.  Some are quite timely with the current state of affairs.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

You can even click on the DIY tab and make some of your own!  Here are a couple of my own creations.    (Hoping I don’t offend any of you with my creations.)

Have fun…and link to some of your own creations in the comments.

As if I Needed One More Thing to Feel Guilty About….

So, today, Oprah does a piece on free range animals, and the more traditionally raised animals…you know…teeny cages, little movement, smelly barns.  She shares an “in depth” look at each of these types of farms, and then tells us that she is not telling us how we should think, she is simply trying to “educate” us so we can make a choice based on our own values.

YEAH RIGHT!!!

So in other words, “If you think it’s okay to mistreat animals, keeping them in little crates where they can’t move, getting diseases cause they sit in their own feces, then you keep right on eating that cheap ol’ meat.  But if you have one teensy little humane bone in your body, you’ll do the right thing and spend a few more of those pennies you don’t have to buy the right meat, thereby saving the animal world from these cruel and unusual punishments.”

Crap.  Now I have to read labels…

Signed,

Kanniduba…saving the world one little free range ham at a time.

The Whole Story…

So, that driveway….you know, this one:

Well, it leads to 60 acres of land owned by Zan’s uncle…complete with streams and fields, and paths.  Apparently, he’s thinking about selling it.  I, being the sentimental fool that I am says, “Aw…what a shame it will be to have that leave the family…it’s a beautiful day…let’s go for a ride to see it!”  I’m thinking photo opportunities…and then we started driving up that driveway and my heart clenched with love for the property.  Now, I am a town girl, not a country girl, and I love my home, the schools, our neighbors, so moving is not an option.  However, I would not say no to a little cottage retreat in the middle of the woods.  That is, if we could ever afford to buy it, which we can’t.  *big*sigh*

But I did get lots of pictures…Enjoy!
