Are you playing with your extension tubes again?
I like these, especially the second one… and the third.
    But… what is it??

See the first post for instructions. πŸ™‚

I didn’t have the same success, but it was fun trying. Everytime I tried to use a smaller aperture, the shutter speed slowed too much so I couldn’t get a sharp focus.
Maybe he used much less water? I’m thinking mine was a bit too deep so the bubbles on the bottom couldn’t be captured as clearly? Just thinking out loud. Back to the shooting board!
(And yes, playing with extension tubes! I have an assignment in macro due Sunday….no flowers allowed.)

Ooh, I wanna play now! I wonder if its do-able with the Raynox without extention tubes? Its supposed to be fairly warm today – I may go outside and try it. I’ll let you know if I have any luck.

I couldn’t resist going out to try this. You are soooo right when you say it is a “time sucker extraordinare!” My little game only ended when it did when my pan containing the oil and water had a little accident! I noticed with the Raynox attached it was like a little microscopic world going by that moved by at high speed with only the gentlest of breeze. I’m not good enough at working with my camera’s settings yet to figure out what I would have had to do to in order to stop some of the things I saw going by under the lens fast enough and still have decent focus. Anyway, my colors are not nearly as vibrant as yours, I guess because of my background choice, but here’s a few shots:

The Raynox worked well! Fun, isn’t it?! πŸ™‚ Our next sunny day, I’ll be back at it.
