Look what I got today!

When I took a hiatus from teaching, I decided I’d stay involved by going to PTSO meetings at my school (which is now my daughter’s school) and help out where I can.  Well, of course I went to the first meeting volunteering to bake cupcakes and such, and came home as the Treasurer, complete with checkbooks and ledgers.  *sigh*

I’ve had a few cranky moments, but decided awhile ago to give my heart to the cause, and have really enjoyed it ever since.

And so, look what I got today!!  I’ve done a few *little* things…buying cameras, developing film, paying bills, etc.  and as a thank you I received these today.  They made my day!  Thought I’d share them with you.  🙂

Backup Photos Reminder!

Okay, so I’ve been saying for weeks now, “Gotta backup those photos…all 1200 or so of them.”  As of this morning, had I done it?  NOOOO!  I kept leaving it unchecked on my To Do list.  But then, last night, my computer suddenly went wonky, and up came this scary blue screen with fatal error messages jumping out at me.  When I read the “performing memory dump” line, I shut it down hard.  And no, it wouldn’t come back up.  Thankfully I am married to a computer network pro who saved me, and my photos, from disaster!

First thing I did this morning was drop them all onto a DVD, and then I breathed a sigh of relief.  So, this is just a little reminder….backup backup backup!!!  🙂

Unexpected Beauty

Last night, I needed to kill 15 minutes between dance lessons, so I took a ride over the bridge to see if the falls were flowing after all the rain and melt.  They weren’t, but I realized I had never photographed this part of the river.  So I decided that I would try to relieve my cooped-up-ness by going out on a photographing expedition with the baby this morning.  I could’ve driven around all day long, taking photos of things that I look at everyday, but never truly see.  They were all taken from inside my car, so I had to do some creative cropping, but I hope you’ll enjoy them on my Flickr page—>  They are all in a set called “Around Town.”
