Holy Crap-oly!!!

After watching Syesha’s Proud Mary performance with my daughter on DVR a little while ago, I went to YouTube to find a Tina Turner performance so she could see the Real Deal in action.

What a woman!!!  I pray I’ll be able to move half as well as she does at her age!!  Check this out!  I was out of breath by the end just watching her!

The Falls

I live in a run-down factory town which was built on the shores of a major river.  (By the way, anyone else hearing what I’m hearing in my head?  “I was boooorn by the river…”

But I digress….anyway, the river falls were running violently when we left for Disney.  I scolded Zan for not telling me (he drives by there on the way to work everyday.)  “Don’t you know what a valuable photographic opportunity I might have missed!”  He rolled his eyes at me and told me to get the photo when we got back.  Well, did I remember?  No.

I finally thought of it yesterday before running out for errands, and brought along my trusty Nikon, crossing my fingers that they were still crashing.  No such luck.  😦  The falls were still running…but merely a trickle compared with the violent overflow from a few weeks ago.  However, I took some photos anyway, and I share them with you today.

This afternoon I will be off to visit a friend in a beloved nearby town…(in fact, Zan and I lived there for the first five and a half years of our marriage.)  Hopefully I’ll have some photos of our mini escape to share with you tomorrow.

A Sweet Treat

So I kept aside a bit of pizza dough last night while I was making homemade pizzas, thinking about a yummy late night cheesy, Pico de Gallo snack.  However, when late night came along, Zan and I had a hankering for something sweet instead.  So check out this tasty concoction.  I took inspiration from a number of internet recipes, not following anything exactly.  (The closest was one from Giada DeLaurentiis.)  We made mini dough circles and baked them, spread chocolate hazelnut spread on them, added the chocolate and white chips, put them back in the oven for a minute to melt the chocolate, then sprinkled almonds on top.

And since everything is better with ice cream on top…

Enjoy!
