As We Remember

I had planned a memorial post today, but when it came to publishing it this morning, I couldn’t hit the button.  I guess I felt that I didn’t have the eloquence to put into words what I feel every September 11th when I open my eyes to the morning.  A heaviness revisits my heart, and I’m sure I’m not the only one so affected on this day.  So instead, I went to the World Trade Center website and chose to look at what will be instead of what was.  I hadn’t seen these renderings before…I hadn’t gone looking to be truthful.  The memorial pools which will preserve the footprints of the fated buildings really are quite beautiful.  I share the link with you, and invite you to take a look at the plans for the site if you haven’t already done so.  It did my heart good, and I hope it does yours too.

Thank you for the link! At work today, I was working on a bid for my company for a small part of the construction of the new buildings. The irony of working on that on today of all days did not escape me. But it was kind of nice. It gave me hope.

“…chose to look at what will be instead of what was.”
I so agree with this! It’s always better to make a fresh start and look to a (hopefully brighter) future, than to dwell on the past.
