White Christmas

We fared much better than thousands.  For us, the storm dumped more snow than sleet or ice, and we kept our power.  I’m very thankful.  School was cancelled, so I have my sweeties home with me today.  And I could tell you the hilarious story of how I went outside to clear the driveway this morning since Zan is not available to be my Hero, but I will spare you the details.  I will just say that hauling a stalled snowblower back up the icy driveway, while waiting for the roof ice to dump off my slate roof and kill me, is an experience I could have lived without!  Luckily my Dear Neighbor was outside to cheer me on and laugh at me the entire time!  *tee*hee*  I managed to shovel and blow a narrow path just wide enough to back my car through.  The rest will wait for Dear Neighbor’s husband, who is my Backup Hero, to come and finish the job.  I’ll have to get busy so I have his favorite brownies waiting for him when he pulls in.  I’m not above bribery.  🙂

It really is quite beautiful outside this morning.  Take a peek.

And look how pretty this tree is this morning.  Remember those berries that were in my masthead awhile back?

And our plowdrivers have been very busy.  (Thank you!)

A Fabulous Gift

I’m so excited!!!  I have needed new “everyday” dishes for at least three years.  I swore I wouldn’t buy anything I didn’t like because it was cheap, and I swore I wasn’t going to spend hundreds of dollars for everyday dishes.  Because of my stubborness, I am now down to about three plates, all of which are chipped with rust stains on them from our old dishwasher.  And they were already 10 year old, cheapy, plain, white stoneware from Lechters…remember that store?

SOOOO!!!  Here’s the thing to get excited about!!!  Pfaltzgraff Outlet is going out of business…  LOOK WHAT I GOT!!!  🙂

Aren’t they preeeettttyyy?!

They were selling for $2.98 per set!!!!!!  I got 12 place settings for $38!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY ME!!!!!  *doing the London hand clap*  They are a retired pattern, so I think Zan and I will return to pick up a few more settings…

I love them!  So glad I waited!  (By the way, the MSRP is $43.00 per setting.  WHoooHoo!)

(Yeah, I know…I need to get out more.)  😉

Storm Brewin’

Well, looks like the intestinal bug has hit my house…comparatively mild by virus standards, but here nonetheless. We’re also supposed to get hit with a whopper of a storm up here, so power may be iffy. (Thinking of you S.T. and hoping your flights aren’t affected.) Since it might be a bit quiet around here for a couple of days, I’ll leave you with this:

They finally got their PosterBoy!
