Elements Put to Work

So, I took this photo the other day….and I hated it.

It was just so blahhhh.

But I really wanted to like it, so I played.

Sprayed:

Red:

Black and White background:

High pass (whatever that means!):

And, Old Paper:

I *think* I like the sprayed and old paper best….any thoughts?  Was it even worth saving do you think?

I agree. I like the old paper the best, with Sprayed at a close second. The b&w background isn’t bad either.
Looks like you had fun playing, so yes, it was worth saving.

Now, see I like the B&W background best because it focuses the viewers attention on your subject not on the filter or technical aspect. It makes an interplay between the light sparkling white wine and the rich full bodies red wine. It draws you to make a conclusion not only on the colors but the way they may taste and feel on the lips. I lingured on that one.

I like “red” and “b&w background”. The red drew my attention in a dramatic kind of way. The red wine looks mysterious in that one to me; for some reason it reminds me of the “murder mystery” games that I used to play with friends years ago. I liked the B&W background for highlighting the differences between the two glasses of wine.

I liked the B&W background. Hmmm…now I am thinking I am out of wine.

I like the one with the naked lady in the background. Wait none actually has that…. ok I would like any of them better if they had a naked lady in the background. And I will be totally honest. I like alot of your work but I dont like any of these pictures. You cannot photoshopo “interesting” into a picture. It either has it or it doesn’t. I think it may have something to do with the fact that 90% of your pictures come from a moment you captured while it was happening. If we were toasting the new year with wine and you grabbed your camera you would see a different picture. But you posed the glasses and picked the wine for the picture. It is going to be a struggle for you to do the assignment and keep your spontaneity. And no I dont have an answer on how you do that. But it is terribly missing in these pictures.

I like the paper one. And maybe Zan can imagine that a naked lady at one point lay under the tree that eventually became the paper. 🙂
