Would you look at the size of this nest?!!! Mister and I were taking a little Photo Ride, and I spotted this thing along the Champlain Canal route. I can only assume it belongs to an osprey, but I’m no expert.

A Half Hour a Day 
I understand both ospreys and eagles return to their messy nests each year, do a little renovation, and move back in. Sort of like Summer People keeping up the family cottage. If you keep an eye on this one, you’ll eventually see the owners!
You know, I never even considered it could be an eagle’s nest…how neat would that be?! 🙂 I will make it a point to drive by there now and then, especially as spring approaches.
It does look like the osprey nest I saw on the Cape last year.
I’d put money down it’s an Osprey nest. They are more common than Eagles and tend to use power poles as nest. My $0.02 which is all I’d wager with. 🙂
