It’s time for another SNL moment.

Okay, so, while watching America’s Got Talent tonight, I saw the two accordian players, and could’ve sworn there had been a Saturday Night Live sketch about two accordian players.  Apparently not.  Apparently I’m as delusional as some of the people auditioning.  However, in the midst of my YouTube wanderings, I came across some old favorites.  So, since I think we could all use a good laugh for one reason or another, I present to you a collection of my old favorites.  Enjoy!

I got a fevah, and the only prescription, is more cowbell!

A Special Christmas Treat:

And speaking of Christmas….

I should never have bought those new lamps…

So I took down my living room curtains today to wash.  Hmmm…I kind of like the no curtain look.  I’ve been toying with the idea for awhile now.  If the woodwork were freshly painted, then it would be quite beautiful… but then if I paint the woodwork, the rest of the room will look as dingy as it is.  And you know, those wood blinds are not only outdated, but don’t work right.  Oooh….I just got a JCPenney sale catalogue and saw these really pretty roman shades in there!  But what color would I order???  Well…I don’t want to order a color that works with the present decor, since we want to paint sometime in the near future.  And I don’t really want to paint until we buy new furniture since I want it all to “go.”  Boy, this furniture is in need of some TLC…so I’ll take it apart today to wash that too….Uh, oh…seams are ripping, and stuffing is beginning to disintegrate.  But I really don’t want to buy new furniture until juice and milk spills are a thing of the past.  Hmmm…leather can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.  And it just so happens that I’ve been studying paint cards “just for fun.”  And Raymour and Flanigan is having a great sale…

Wait…

Now look through that living room window…see Zan installing the last railing on our deck?  See how hard he’s working while I sit here, hanging out with Baby Boy and the Girls in the air conditioned comfort of my outdated living room?

I am ashamed of myself for conjuring more projects.

So, furniture clean, and curtains washed, I will wait and work on that whole “being content” thing.  The porch comes first.

Damn that Lowe’s!!  Trouble I tell ya…nothing but trouble.

Pseudo Fini

So this is the point in a project where things can come to a standstill if you don’t push on.  You know…when something is almost finished…finished enough to be liveable, but the details aren’t all in?

Well, that’s where we are in the deck project.  All that’s left is the top railing, and the “something-to-block-off-underneath” work.  Can I just tell you how much I LOVE it already???!!!!  🙂

We have already spent a ton of time on it, and we christened it on Sunday with dinner with the neighbors.  Mister Baby Boy loves it because he can run around like a crazy man without being told “no” and bounce the basketball to his heart’s content.  He loves laying on the decking looking up into the tree…his newest trick is laying on his back, throwing a beach ball up and catching it…he laughs hysterically when he misses and it hits him in the face…he thinks that’s pretty hilarious for some reason.  *shakes*head*

So I present to you the almost finished, totally lived on and enjoyed, deck.

Here’s my favorite spot…we have two of these…we had to move one under the front porch in case of rain…I accidentally bought the wrong sized cover for one.  *sigh*  Like I really wanted another reason to go to Lowe’s for the hundredth time!

So, we obviously have a TONTONTONTON of cleanup to do…and real steps to build…and a railing to finish…and a bit more decorating to do…and a new grill to purchase…and a few flowers to make it colorful…but I am already in love!

And then it’s onto the next project.  The front porch.  DUN DUN DUNH!!!!!!!!
